Rural Education &Welfare Society (REWS) is a non-profit to work for underprivileged people in various areas. REWS is engaged in Providing Basic Education, Hygiene and Healthcare, Vocational Training and Sustainable Transport. REWS has initiated works in another sector – safe and secure society through their approach – Crime stems from society and its structure, sohate crime but do not hate criminals. REWS has officially partnered with PYNCC for their flagship program of Rupantran: reforming prisoners and prisons.

Our Approach

The approach of REWS is always to implement projects at grassroots to complement and supplement government’s policy and endeavors; ensuring community participation in program and linking facilitating) community with government’s facilities. Gender issues, equality and gender justice is embedded into welfare projects.

Education and awareness building, health, skill training for sustained economic benefits (earnings) are the key components of its programs. Each project defines deliverable which bring in changes in community’s socio-economic status.

Women/ mothers being pivotal member of the family with critical role in shaping bringing up of children, REWS places due emphasis on empowering them through social awakening by holding regular meetings, making them aware of maternal and child health issues; facilities provided by the government and private institutions to all citizens; sensitize them about value of child education and facilities available to children by the Government under Right to Education (RTE) Act and skill training for economic betterment.
