VOCATIONAL SKILLS TRAINING & LIVELIHOOD

REWS has been actively involved in helping and providing technical and non-technical skills training to help people become self sustainable.

 Digital literacy:

120 Students having passed class X were imparted training in basic computer- the project supported by Technical Education community outreach scheme (TECOS), Govt. of NCT Delhi. The children have been from slums/JJ Clusters in areas such as Palam, Sagarpur, Mahaveer Enclave, Bindapur, Matiala in SW Delhi. Almost half of them got employment in local shops, restaurants.

Beauty Culture & Training

60 girls from underprivileged slums community in and around Mahaveer Enclave were trained in beauty culture and hair dressing under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna.(PMKVY). It is heartening to mention that almost all are practicing the skill and earning on an average 5-6 thousands rupees in month.

Customer relationship

120 students were trained in Customer relationship Executive (CRE) program under PMKVY scheme of Govt of India.

 Retail Training supported

The project aims at preparing urban under-privileged adolescent youths with skill in English proficiency (communication), basic computer and soft skills for enhancing their employability in fast expanding sectors like retail outlets, hospitality and BPO sectors. Training program on Retail sales was supported by PDIL. The duration has been 3 months and in all 120 children in 4 batches (each batch consisting of 30 trainees) were trained during the project period of 1 year.

 Motor Driver’s Training

40 persons were trained in driving motor vehicle- training was held in Mahaveer enclave for duration of 3 months and certification was provided by ASDC after proper test of driving skill. All 40 drivers were placed as Ola Drivers.

It also helps deciding about escalation of program activities and also in expanding geographic rich.
